FAKE LOVE

🦠 The Brief

During the initial COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, the Northampton rap duo Ray Gemini and Li-Likeisaid (aka STMG) had released their brand new single ‘Fake Love’. To promote the new track, the STMG guys needed an animated visual, as COVID-19 had made it impossible to shoot a music video. 

🦠 The Response

Collectively we decided to make the visualiser depict the ‘fake love’ content of the song as COVID-19 and as something the STMG crew were staying away from. Inspired by music visualisers such as ‘Lil Uzi Vert - XO Tour Life3’ animated loops, this visualiser pushes the animation quantity more so, adding in new elements which relate to the lyrics such as Pac-Man and Dragon Ball Z. The video incorporates the duo’s Northampton heritage by featuring the National Lift Tower in the distance which can be seen across all of Northamptonshire.
